FAST (Facility Access and Shipment Tracking)
The Facility Access and Shipment Tracking (FAST) application collects and monitors appointment data for U.S. postal facilities. The FAST application replaced the Drop Shipment Appointment System (DSAS). FAST improves the efficiency and effectiveness of appointment creation and management capability for both customers and the Postal Service. Additionally, FAST provides advance notification of inbound mail volumes to Surface Visibility (SV) and uses scan data from SV to automatically close and track appointments. The goal of the Facility Access and Shipment Tracking (FAST) application is to continue to enhance Business Mail Acceptance operational performance.

FAST supports the Intelligent Mail Full-Service deployment. FAST provides the following Full-Service performance and eDOC benefits: electronic appointment scheduling for one-time and recurring appointments via Mail.XML; ability to update recurring appointment content via Mail.dat; reporting capabilities to view appointment arrival information; ability to retrieve closeout data electronically; and single sign-on capabilities to other systems integrated with the Business Customer Gateway.

The Customer Supplier Agreement (CSA) is a module added to the existing FAST application to formalize agreements between USPS and mailers on criteria used to determine Start-the-Clock Day Zero (Day-0). CSAs can be used to approve later Critical Acceptance Times and to describe separation and containerization standards requested of the mailer that are not covered in the containerization requirements described in the Domestic Mail Manual (DMM).

To obtain access to FAST apply for Schedule Mailing Appointment through the Business Customer Gateway.
